Gina,
We do several temporal artery studies a month have developed a specific protocol for this. We also give several lectures in our area on the topic as we have become very proficient in them. This is a very technically
challenging study due to constant changing of your settings to prevent a false positive. Are your doctors doing biopsies as well? We correlated 100 ultrasound studies with a biopsy to ensure our skills and protocol were sufficient and constantly improve
on how we are doing the duplexing.
Please contact me off the forum and I can help you design a protocol as well as give you a few power points we have on the topic.
Andy

Subject: Temporal artery duplex
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has a protocol for temporal artery testing to rule out temporal arteritis? My physician’s and I have having a discussion on this topic to see if it is something we can start testing. Any information will help!
Thank you!!
