Recovery sticks were created via Google’s own ChromeBook Recovery Utility - per CTL (and Google’s) directions. This is the only way we’ve ever been able to create recovery media. Tried “tricking” the affected ChromeBook by using recovery media for a different models ( e.g. CTL NL61, or an HP model) but the device immediately rejects the boot stick - and said Chrome OS was not on it.Since swapping the hard drive did not change anything, it seems like the problem might lie with the mother board. Again, though, the growing frequency of this problem is …. curious. On Wed, Oct 4, 2017 at 11:06 AM, Raymond Ballou <[log in to unmask]> wrote:DrewYou didn't say, but I am guessing you have tried creating recovery media from more than one donor N6.and also tried from a machine that is not a CB?In general, chromebook ninjas have also helped me out before (until they find out a device is managed) but not with something like this.Is Google any help or are they telling you to seek out CTL?
RWe’ve tried many different recovery sticks (even tried different manufacturers and sizes) but the recovery process simply freezes. Every time. Leaving them to “restore” over night does not help. We’ve spent waaay too much researching and problem solving and have not made any headway.------------------------------
