Hi Peter,

I am teaching a Digital Citizen class, exclusively based upon the Digital Citizenship ISTE standard.

ARSU Power Standard:

Students will understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior.

ISTE Standards for Students

Digital Citizenship:

Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical.

Learning Targets:

2a. I can cultivate and manage my digital identity and reputation and am aware of the permanence of my actions in the digital world.

2b. I can demonstrate that I engage in positive, safe, legal and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using networked devices.

2c. I can demonstrate an understanding of and respect for the rights and obligations of using and sharing intellectual property.

2d. I can manage my personal data to maintain digital privacy and security and am aware of data-collection technology used to track my navigation online.

Hi all:

I need an example of ISTE Standards in action in classrooms.  I am making a more formal announcement later this week as the State of Vermont, or more specifically, the State Board of Education is adopting the newly updated standards (2016) this week at their meeting.  ISTE is doing a press release and short story on this and would like an example of a classroom in VT that is specifically using the standards with students.

Anyone have example or a classroom that is engaged in this way?

Story could be how the standards are focused on with regards a subject area or how the standards have been incorporated into some other learning?

Thanks for sharing with me today or tomorrow if possible.
