This is the second year we have had touch chromebooks (with Android
compatibility). We got them to replace iPads for our first graders, which
were being passed down to the PreK/K teams.

We can get about 2.5 chromebooks for the price of 1 ipad.
They are much easier to manage.
The kids will be getting chromebooks for their 1:1 in 3rd grade.

Things we noticed that we weren't expecting;

We have not used the Android compatibility, all of the apps we are using
with the little kids are available in chrome.
A surprising number of the first graders are using the keyboard, they
prefer this mode to the folded over tablet mode.
Keeping the devices in a cart in the classroom has resulted in no damage
(so far).
