I have to 2nd the recommendation for Whitewater. Also if you find yourself driving to Red from the south(or from Red to the south), you shouldn't pass up this little known gem:

One thing I would add is on the drive south, don’t retrace.  Instead, travel south through Idaho and hit Schweitzer, Silver, Brundage, Tamarack (I think it’s open) and Bogus Basin, then down Utah to Powder Mountain and Snowbasin.

We  did a slightly smaller 16-resort circular round trip in 2007 consisting of, in order, Powder Mountain, Bogus Basin, Wallowa Huts, Brundage, Tamarack, Red Mountain, Big Red Cats,  Whitewater, Fernie, Kimberley, Castle Mountain, Schweitzer, Silver Mountain, Bridger Bowl, Big Sky and Jackson Hole, and had an absolute blast.

So, the full context is...

A pal of mine and I drive from Santa Fe>Western Slope>Wyo>Montana>Canada

Drive North (dirtbag session):

Colorado - Ski Monarch, Crested Butte, Durango, Telluride, Cooper, maybe Vail.

Wyoming - Jackson

Montana - Bridget, Big Sky, Northern Montana?

BC - Meet Brother and Family. Fernie? Panorama? Kicking Horse? 4-5 days.  Brother and Family will be flying out, so they might fly into Calgary and rent some transportation

Then, South, retracing our steps, or maybe back through Boise and SLC.

So, 2 1/2 weeks?

Slopeside isn't a must. Fine dining isn't a must.  Remote is ok.

Something to think about as we wait for snow.

Hi Spence;

The consensus is “they are all good” “Different, but good”.

We need some more info on the specifics before the list launches into a whole raft of responses based on the pretty remarkable cumulative  experience out in this part of the world, some which may not be relevant at all

Is slope side lodging a must?  Multi-site road tripping ok?   Adding a cat day?  “Family friendly” and “great trees “ sometimes might be at odds.  Something off-hill to entertain the group?  Great dining needed or roughing it?  Ease of airport access or is remote ok?  Renting a vehicle?   How much can you handle in total trip cost?  Do you plan on buying Epicpasses, Maxpasses, or skicanada.org multi-tickets? (the last option might be important if you are not buying the former two)

Hi -

Wondering what the Plaid consensus is on some of the Alberta/BC ski areas.  I've skied Whistler, Panorama and Lake Louise. Wondering about Fernie, Red Kicking Horse.  Good spot for a family?  ood spot for trees/steeps?

Thanks!
