If the link to the assignment has the ending of the url appended to "copy" instead of "edit" then when that url is clicked the user is asked to make a fresh copy.  Perhaps that would work???



I don't use Classroom, but if there is a way to append the url (if one is even used) or to create a link...not sure if this would work for assignments, but should work for Docs, Sheets....
