Hi Robert

Are any of your photos in albums.

The only ones that show up for me are the ones in albums.

Try createing an album directly in Google photos and then come back to this.

I practiced that step this morning when I did the tutorial  -

If that does not work, it could be a setting I have on my Google Photos since I use Google Photos constantly to make my Videos   - I may have tweaked  a setting.

I can check if creating an Album does not rectily the problem

Hmm, when I click on the Picasa icon, I don't get my Google Photos.  I get this, two profile photos, one hangout photo that's a screen shot of bandwidth utilization, and a couch I was trying to give away on a message board.  Not exactly the hundreds of photos  have in Google Photo, not even a link that would lead to them.

I have successfully used a few different ways.
The Google Drive folder works great with students and for collaborating together on a movie.
The WeVideo App works, but it feels slower to me.

MY FAVORITE way to import from Google Photos is to use the Import Picassa icon on IMPORT MEDIA in WeVIDEO
When I click on that my Google Photos Albums appear.

I made a quick 2 minute tutorial of this showing the steps I took to get two recent  pictures I had in my Google Photos into WeVideo

Hope that helps

Lucie

Thanks.  Turns out they do tell you how to do that in the support page, way down at the bottom.  The heading says "organize photos and videos using Google Drive."  Unless you actually read the steps, it's not obvious to me they're referring to Google Photos photos. Why they don't just tell you about that setting right on the screen you get when you click the Google Photos icon in Drive is beyond me.

Sounds like this is gonna make a copy of all your Google photos in your drive.  I have thousands of pictures, seems like a waste of storage space just to get one video from point A to point B.  I wish Wevideo would just access Photos directly.

Within Google Drive, go into settings and check the box for "Create a Google Photos folder" and hit done.  A Google Photos folder is created automatically under the root of your Google Drive.  Depending on how many files you have in Google Photos, it may take a bit for the folder to populate.  It will be populated with folders organized by year.  Once that one-time step is complete, you can access the photos from Wevideo (and other purposes).

Scott, how? Despite the text of that message in Drive, I did not see any instructions for doing this on the support page.

I'd already followed the step of creating a Google Photos folder.  As a result, Wevideo is able to access and import videos from my Google Photos.

Question for wevideo enthusiasts:

What's the easiest way to get a video from my Samsung phone to Wevideo so I can edit it?  Photos and videos automatically sync to Google Photo.  Wevideo seems like it will directly import a video from Google Drive, but not Google Drive.  There's a Google Photo icon in Google drive, but when you click on it, it says "Drive no longer includes a Google Photos view.  If you'd like to continue accessing your personal photos and videos from Drive, create a Google photos folder in drive.  For more information on how to do this, see the support page."

The words support page are a link, but there's a lot of information in there about syncing drive photos to Photo, but not the other way around, from what I could see.  And nothing about "creating a google photos folder" in Drive, per se.
