Greetings!

I have a number of high school teachers frustrated by the fact that, suddenly, USB flatbed scanners plugged into ChromeBooks have stopped responding.  Teachers (and students) were using the Scan app with Canon Lide 200 scanners (a fairly old model) pretty regularly;  last week, the canners stopped responding.  We reached out to folks who developed the Scan app, but got no response.  I *did* discover the Scan app was developed (originally) to facilitate ChromeBook use with Canon’s Canoscan devices, which explains why it worked so well in the past.

Replacing the scanners with a MFP would be ideal - but that’s not going to happen this year.  And there’s a pressing need to use the scanners as we near the end of the school year.

Yes, students could use their phones to take a picture (or get one of the phone camera/scanner apps) but that’s clunky - and teachers were hoping to avoid giving students a reason to get their phones out during class.

Anyone have suggestions?

Thanks!

DB
