We don’t have any MFP’s currently available for these staff members or
students. The flatbed scanners had been a nice, simple way of getting
paper documents into Google Docs (and, occasionally using OCR software).
Our copiers are not enabled as scanners (that’s a completely different, and
really dumb, problem).

My current thinking: we’re going to have students install some of the free
scanner apps on their phones and then use Google Drive app to upload the
files. I’m trying really hard to use the mantra, “don’t make people have
to think” when it comes to work flow: incredibly simple (ideally
single-step) processes are most effective. That’s why the flat bed scanner
had been so nice: push one button, and viola!
