Wow. I’ve never had that experience, Joe.  We trained students to use the same computer each time, if possible, actually assigning them a particular computer #. With teachers signing out the chromebook carts, then its pretty clear what device pairs with each student. And students are able to get to work just that much faster. It worked for us... ymmv.
