After a mellow crowd on powder Friday at Sugarbush I was ready for the
Saturday Killingfields.

Single digit temps kept the crowds away and the addition of Bear Mtn (Sky
Peak Quad), Needles Eye and the new Snowdown 6 pack bubblelift really
spread things out.

The Canyon and front side was brutally cold in the early morning, so we
followed the sun and went right to Bear to enjoy the man-made snowstorm. My
friends sampled he woods and found some good snow. I found powder on
Wildfar and enjoyed the talcum powder under the guns on Bear Claw.

We worked our way over to Needles. It was firm and fast. Bittersweet was
treacherous and Superstar was pretty icy as well. Old Superstar was better
on natural snow. Went over to try out the Bubble Lift. It stopped a lot.
There is a learning curve for the general population. Not as nice at
Okemo's bubble lift as the seats are heated at Okemo, not at Kton.

Unimpressed with Snowdown in general we headed back to Bear for perfect
small bumps of talcum powder. Most folks were over there as this was the
only place we saw any regular traffic and it was for good reason.

My arm was sore after skiing 2 days but it was worth it.
