Market Highlights - Friday, February 1, 2019. At
press time, light fed cattle trade was noted in the North at $198 to
$199 dressed, $1 to $2 higher than last week. Trade in the South had
not occurred as of press time; however, the market undertone is $1
to $2 higher. Prices last week were mostly $123. Boxed beef traded
near steady to $2 lower, as adequate supply was met with balanced
demand, moderating price moves. Feeder cattle traded steady to $3
higher on the week. Calves traded $4 to $8 higher on strong demand,
least increase on heifers. Market cows traded $2 to as much as $8
higher this week. Corn ended the week down 2 cents/bushel.
