Subject: Upcoming Crops and Soils Meetings in March

Program Announcement

"Fine Tuning Your Crops and Soils" is a one-day program for farmers and agricultural service providers to highlight the latest in forage and field crop and soils practices and management. We have a host of speakers to discuss soil water management, equipment needs for no-till and cover crops, cover crop success, grassland manure injection, Vermont RAP rules and crop pest and management issues. Water Quality, Pesticide Application (private), and CCA Educational credit applications have been submitted for approval.

The program will be offered in March at four locations on the following dates:
March 19, Bradford Fire Department, 135 Carson Lane, Bradford, VT
March 21, East View Restaurant, 47 Landing Street, Newport, VT
March 26, Hartness House, 30 Orchard Street, Springfield, VT
March 27, Castleton Fire Department, 273 RT VT-30, Castleton, VT

Custom Manure Applicators - The program on March 21 in Newport will offer a custom manure applicator exam, which carries an additional $30 certification fee (paid to the State of Vermont at location). This offering will be held for an additional hour after the completion of the general program agenda.

The registration fee is $25 and includes lunch and program materials. To guarantee lunch, please register by March 11 for the Bradford and Newport locations and by March 18 for Springfield and Castleton locations.
