or academic librarians for the position of Health Sciences Librarian. This
role is a full-time, instructor-level faculty position located in Portland,
Oregon.

OHSU is known for leading excellence in health care, research and
education, and is the state's only academic health center. As a public
organization, we provide community outreach and services for Oregon's most
vulnerable populations.  We combine patient care, research, and education
of the next generation of health care providers and scientists with
community service to improve the health and well-being of all Oregonians.

Faculty rank and salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience;
minimum salary is $60,000.

Position Description:

The Health Sciences Librarian is responsible for planning, promoting
and  This position provides information services to support the needs of
the OHSU community and cultivates relationships with faculty,
staff, researchers, and students in OHSU programs. The Health
Sciences Librarian provides instruction at educational and clinical sites,
develops lesson plans, and provides educational programs in one-on-one and
group settings, meeting the needs of OHSU users.  This position is designed
for an early-career librarian who will work closely with other faculty
librarians to develop advanced skills in instruction, research,
outreach, assessment, and the critical appraisal and use of evidence to
make clinical or research decisions. This individual works competently and
sensitively with a broadly diverse constituency with regards to many facets
of identity, including but not limited to gender, ethnicity, nationality,
sexual orientation, and religion.

As a member of the Library Faculty, the Health Sciences
Librarian participates in planning, policy formation, and decision-making
relating to library services, collections, and technologies. This position
requires teaching, scholarship and service that contributes to the
effectiveness of the Library, the University, and the profession.

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

·       Master’s degree in library and information science or equivalent
combination of a relevant advanced degree and experience.
·       At least 1 year working in support of user information needs in an
academic, research, public, or hospital library setting.
·       Experience providing reference support, customer support, or
equivalent front-line services.
·       Experience searching academic or discipline-specific databases.
·       Ability to teach citation management software such as EndNote or
Zotero.
·       Service orientation and an ability to work with diverse communities
to understand and respond to ever-changing needs.
·       Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in librarianship and
the university community.
