Dear PIs and Campus Research Administrators,

* InfoEd will add new purpose codes to PT to enable tracking both proposals submitted starting July 1 with the new purpose codes and FY 20 awards.

Why Selecting and Accurate Purpose/Activity Code is Important:

Purpose codes define the primary activity of the proposed project, which drives the F&A rate used when budgeting, which drives the function code used in the project spending chartstrings, which drives accurate reporting of sponsored project awards and research expenditures.

In addition to the revised budget worksheet, SPA's Prepare and Submit webpage now includes a complete list of Purpose/Activity Codes, definitions and examples<https://www.uvm.edu/spa/prepare-submit>.

If you have any questions, please contact your SPA RA<https://www.uvm.edu/spa/departmental-assignments>.

Thank You,
Julie
