After a late period of very little activity things have started to emerge in Bennington.
First Banded and Acadian Hairstreak (only 1 of each), First Common Wood Nymphs, Mulberry Wings , Baltimore Checkerspots and Delaware Skipper seen in past 3 days.

This past Sunday 25 miles south, in Williamstown Mass, myself and a friend helped out with the Northern Berkshire 4th of July Butterly Count. (Mass Butterfly Club event).
We had a count of 618 European Skippers at one location. Vastly undercounted as we counted what we saw while walking mown paths zigzagging through an huge steep
field. Other butterflies of note: 2 Hickory Hairstreaks, 4 Coral Hairstreaks and 6 Banded Hairstreaks. The Corals and Banded were swirling and dogfighting.
