Dear Colleagues.

I am forwarding 3 hyperlinks provided by the U.S. Senate HSGAC (Homeland Security and Government Affairs) Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations regarding threats to the U.S. research enterprise posed by China’s talent recruitment plans.

I found the Hearing video fascinating. I invite you all to click, listen and learn.

·       Hearing:   Securing the U.S. Research Enterprise from China’s Talent Recruitment Plan

·       Report: Threats to the U.S. Research Enterprise: China’s Talent Recruitment Plans

·       Appendix A: China’s Talent Recruitment Plan Contracts

As a SPA Reminder,

When you apply for research funding, please follow sponsor’s current and pending support disclosure instructions carefully, for example NIH’s Other Support, NSF’s Current and Pending Support.

When sponsors request all current support be disclosed, it means from whatever source, Federal, Non-federal, State, Local, Foreign, Public, Private, Non-profits, Foundations, Commercial organizations, or internal funds allocated toward specific projects. The NIH does specifically indicate Training awards, prizes or gifts are not to be included.

If you do have questions about preparing current and pending support pages, please contact your department research administrator or contact your SPA RA.

Thank You,

Brian
