Many Vermont birders already know of Fred (Pat) Pratt's and Team Pipit's
recent birding feat, becoming the first person/team to record 150+ species
in each of Vermont's 14 counties in a single calendar year. Pat's sighting
last Sunday of 2 Northern Shovelers on Lake Paran brought him to him 150
species for the year in Bennington County, capping a quest that began in
2011 to reach this goal in all 14 counties. Such a monumental achievement
demands to be celebrated, and communicated widely!

I know the entire Vermont birding community joins VCE in congratulating Pat
and Team Pipit on a feat that is both astounding and inspiring!

In awestruck admiration,
