Hi,

We’re receiving some reports of users who’s videos are not processing again. Has there been another notice regarding processing issues?

Thanks,

Ian

Microsoft posted an update to these status of this issue last night. [Emphasis is mine]. —Geoff

Type: Incident

Status: Extended Recovery

Last updated: 3/16/20 6:53 PM PDT

User Impact: Users may be experiencing longer than normal video processing times on Microsoft Stream and a few may experience few errors while uploading

Scope of impact: The issue affects all Stream customers whose tenant is in the US East data center.

Current Status: Stream processing queues have normalized and uploads are successful in BL2. Fixing all the videos in the queue is expected to take a few days. As a workaround, if possible, customers can (as video owner) go to My Content > ... > Download video and re-upload their video on Stream. Thank you for your patience.

I short demo meeting recording I created yesterday afternoon appears in the audit log:

And the video appears in my meeting chat history:

But when I launch the video; I get an error that the video isn’t ready. I will continue to monitor this issue.

Nick,

There’s currently an advisory from Microsoft about this issue:

Title: Delays and errors processing videos in Microsoft Stream

User Impact: Users may be experiencing longer than normal video processing times and upload errors in Microsoft Stream.

More info: You can check the data center your tenant is tied to from your Stream website: Microsoft Stream > ? > About Microsoft Stream > Your data is stored in…

Current status: We're currently deleting old jobs to free up quota to mitigate the delays while we continue to investigate a fix for the coding issue that is causing the errors.

Scope of impact: The issue affects all Stream customers whose tenant is in the US East data center.

Start time: Thursday, March 12, 2020, 10:42 AM (2:42 PM UTC)

Root cause: A coding issue within Azure Media Services (AMS) is causing batch calls to hit their quota limit, resulting in periodic delays in video processing and a small percentage of failures which will automatically retry.

Next update by: Monday, March 16, 2020, 2:00 PM (6:00 PM UTC)

I have reported that we are being affected by this issue and reached out to our MS support manager to see if there’s anything we can do to escalate.

Hi, Nick,

I agree that it doesn’t seem like it should take 24 hours to compress and upload a video. I will see if I can find anything in the stream audit logs. Can you forward the join meeting link URL to me? It might help identify the particular video if I need to open a ticket with Microsoft.

Hi,

We had a meeting yesterday that was about 90 minutes and we recorded it. 24 hours later it’s still saying it’s processing, in the past it hasn’t taken this long, any idea why this is happening?
