Fit Kids Applied Research, listed as PSYS: 268, is a 3-credit service learning course offered by Dr. Hoza through the Psychological Science department that involves learning
about physical activity and development in young children, and going into local preschools to implement a physical activity program.
New this Fall, students may also apply to participate in an Independent Study Course through Dr. Hoza's lab in the Psychological Science Department. In this course, students will primarily
focus on gaining extensive hands-on experience working with young children in school settings. Students do not run the physical activity program as part of this course, but instead will focus on gaining perspectives, knowledge, and skills to work effectively
with children. During a weekly lecture period, students will learn about the general research process of the Hoza lab and students may also be provided with opportunities to assist with research related tasks throughout the semester.
There is an application and interview process to take part in these courses. For more information, or to receive the online application link, contact Allie Krasner at
