Hi Ernie,

Are you trying to log in with new credentials? You could log in to the local admin account, connect to the VPN and then switch users to log in with your NetID and password. These steps are laid out here: https://www.uvm.edu/it/kb/article/remote-signin-domain-joined/

Hi Ernie-

Unjoin from the domain (i.e. assign to a workgroup), then rejoin the domain?  Requires “being on campus” which may work through the VPN but I can’t guarantee it as I haven’t done this particular experiment myself.

I would like to do this on an old laptop that has been idle for a while: Clear domain credential cache (https://www.uvm.edu/it/kb/article/clear-domain-credential-cache/).

The problem is that I hit a wall at step 1 because I don’t know the old password. Can anyone recommend another method of clearing the cached password(s)? (I do have the local Administrator password.)
