The public services for former Vice President Mondale are scheduled to be held in September of 2021.  While I have not received any formal announcement from the White House or the Minnesota Governor’s Office relative to the Mr. Mondale’s interment, I have been sent photos of flags restored to full staff at the White House and the US Capital. The following was posted on one flag vendor’s website.

 

Per the following release, on Sat., Apr. 24, from the Governor of Minnesota - the home state for Walter Mondale:
The family of Vice President Mondale has notified the Office of Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan that the Vice President has been privately interred.

 

Flags to be Lowered to Half Staff

In Accordance With

United States Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, Section 7

 

Where the flag(s) will be lowered:                           All Vermont State facilities

 

Which flag(s) will be lowered:                                  Both the U. S. and Vermont Flags

 

Date the flag(s) will be lowered:                              Monday, April 19, 2021 – Day of Death

 

Date flag(s) will be returned to full staff:                Immediately - Monday, April 26, 2021

 

In Honor Of:            Walter F. Mondale, Former Vice President of the United States (1977-1981) who passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021
