Hi all,
We are concluding our Northeast SARE Research and Education grant project on pre- and post-harvest strategies for leek moth control on diversified vegetable farms. Attached is an updated leek moth fact sheet that we wanted to share with
you as one final product funded by the grant. Stay tuned, we are hoping to launch an updated leek moth information website this winter, to take the place of the retiring Cornell website that has been served us all for many years.
If you are not familiar, the research component of our project focused on reducing the impact of the leek moth through the release of a commonly available parasitoid wasp and the adoption of adaptive curing practices to reduce bulb damage
from late season leek moth larvae. Our educational programming has included on-farm workshops, conference presentations, scouting reports, flight updates, management recommendations, fact sheet, etc.
Please fill out the following REALLY SHORT survey through
this online survey. If you truly despise online surveys and would rather simply reply (just to me) to the email and answer the questions, please feel free. Thanks so much, and reach out with any questions about this and other insect pests.
Mayam, Vic, & Scott (the VEPART team)
