The University of New Mexico Medical Center Library seeks
candidates for a senior level position as Online Services
Coordinator.  The Library serves the Schools of Medicine,
Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health, Dental programs, the University
of New Mexico Hospital and a growing number of inpatient and outpatient
facilities. The Library is extensively involved in statewide outreach
programs, and the support of health professionals throughout
New Mexico.  The Library has a strong tradition of excellence
in both service and technological innovation.
 
Responsibilities include the management and operation of the
Library's PlusNet Medline network, supervision and quality
control of mediated online search services and an active
LATCH (Literature Attached to Charts) program, and
organization and implementation of an extensive end user
educational program.  Incumbent will serve as a senior
member of the Library's Biomedical Services team. Position entails
extensive online searching, with heavy clinical emphasis.
 
Requirements
 
1) MLS from ALA accredited library school.
 
2) Minimum of 6 years of
experience with online literature searching/teaching.
Knowledge of multiple bibliographic database systems.
Extensive knowledge of Medline.
 
3) Experience with personal computers, DOS and
Macintosh systems.
 
4) Experience with networked online literature search
service or Novell Networks.
 
5) Demonstrated record of customer service commitment,
professionalism, and ability to function as part of a
progressive, innovative team.
 
6) Demonstrated superior oral and written communication
skills, including presentations and educational sessions.
 
7) Demonstrated ability, diplomacy and tact in interacting
with the academic and medical communities and demonstrated
understanding of their information needs and demands.
 
8) Demonstrated ability to manage complex day to day
operations with and emphasis on client satisfaction, cost
effectiveness, and continuous quality improvement.
 
Minimum salary: $34,500 and negotiable depending upon
experience.  Non probationary faculty appointment.  Send
