I've been following with interest the discussion on hospital library committees and would like to conduct an informal survey of sorts- Who do most people report to, as far as administration goes? My assumption is that the library for the most part would be connected to medical education in some way. Are there any bizarre organizational charts out there, like, say, the library reports to the VP for building maintenacne or something? What are the benefits, if any, to reporting to a VP outside of med ed? Or pitfalls associated with being involved with med ed?
