I have a vague recollection that the search itself, and the citations are not
covered by copyright, but the abstracts are.  They are "attached" to the
article in publication, and would therefore be under the copyright held by
the publisher.  I do recall seeing database storage agreements to the
effect that an individual could retain the results, but that they could not
be repackaged and sold without consent of the publishers.
