                    REFERENCE/ACCESS SERVICES LIBRARIAN
 
The Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM)
is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Reference/
Access Services Librarian.
 
Responsibilities include supervision of Circulation/Reserve, Interlibrary
Loan and Fee for Service areas, in addition to sharing reference duties
with two other librarians in the public services department.  The position
reports to the Head of Public Services.  The NEOUCOM Information Center
staff includes 8.5 librarians and 9.5 staff positions.  This position
supervises 3.5 FTE permanent staff (5 persons), and 3.25 FTE student
positions (9 students).
 
 
Requirements:  MLS from an ALA-accredited library school; supervisory
experience; experience as a professional librarian and with on-line
searching.
 
Preferred:  Health sciences library and public service experience;
membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals.

Notes about the college and area:
 
NEOUCOM is a free-standing, state-supported medical school, which is
part of an educational consortium with The University of Akron, Kent
State University, Youngstown State University, seven major and 10
limited teaching hospitals in Northeastern Ohio.  The College's
mission is to graduate physicians oriented to the practice of
medicine at the community level, especially in primary care.  NEOUCOM
offers a combined B.S./MD program with the three universities.  A
modern administrative and basic medical sciences campus is located
in Rootstown, Ohio, central to the major teaching hospitals in Akron,
Canton, and Youngstown.
 
Rootstown is a rural community located 20 miles east of Akron, 33
