Systems Librarian
 
Duke University Medical Center Library is seeking a dynamic,
energetic individual with strong skills in networked information
systems.  In addition to supporting the library's automated
systems, Internet/Gopher services, and the development of a new
electronic classroom, this position will provide staff and end-
user support and training.  The library has a $3.0 million
budget, 270,000 volumes, and a staff of 43 including 14
professional librarians.  The library's present systems include:
DRA, Innovacq, CD PLUS, Unix and Novell.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:  ALA-accredited MLS or advanced degree in a related
computer or information science field.  Experience with networked
information systems in an academic or health sciences library.
Strong-service orientation; superior communication,
interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.  Knowledge of MACs, PCs,
Windows, the Internet, and Novell or Unix.  Desirable:
Experience with multimedia and digital scanning systems.
Membership in the Academy of Health Information Professionals is
expected.  Minimum starting salary:  $28,100.
