Education/Reference Librarian (Search Reopened)
The Health Sciences Library at East Carolina University is
seeking applicants for an education/reference librarian
position.  Responsibilities: reviewing curricula of
programs served by the HSL and identifying areas where
instructional programs in information
retrieval/management might be added, working with
faculty in  programs served by the HSL to integrate such
instruction into existing courses, participating in the
development, design, and teaching of the library's
instructional programs in information retrieval and
management including forming course teams, developing
time lines for course development, and participating as a
member of course teams, providing clients with assistance
in public areas using traditional and online (including
Internet) resources (approximately 15-20 hours per week),
serving as a member of the library's staff development/CE
committee and assisting in identifying staff development
needs and coordinating the development and scheduling of
courses to meet those needs, and special projects as
assigned by the Education Librarian.  Applicants must
have an ALA-accredited degree in library science.  They
must also meet one of the following requirements:
undergraduate or graduate degree in basic/life/health
sciences; course work or internship in health sciences
librarianship; or one year or equivalent experience in an
academic health sciences library.  Membership in the
Academy of Health Information Professionals required
within one year of date of employment.  Minimum salary
(no experience): $27,055.  To apply submit resume, 2
