INFORMATION SERVICES LIBRARIAN (PART-TIME)
 
Purpose:
To provide services and overall responsibility for reference and
information services late afternoons, evenings and weekends during
the academic year.
 
Responsibilities:
   -Assisting patrons with reference questions
   -Providing help with use of library workstations and instruction
    on searching the on-line catalog and other electronic databases
    and resources on the INTERNET
   -Preparing and teaching bibliographic and other search skills
   -Verifying/processing interlibrary loan requests
   -Developing guides, flyers, etc. related to reference and
    information services
   -Compiling statistical and user evaluation/survey reports
 
Qualifications:
Required:     Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA
              accredited library school
              Strong interpersonal skills and public service
              orientation
              Flexibility in scheduling
 
Desirable:    Experience in reference at a health-related library or
              science/medical background
              Experience in teaching/training
              Knowledge of electronic and print databases
              Knowledge of OPAC searching, OCLC, DOCLINE and QUICKDOC
              Experience with microcomputers
 
Schedule:     Temporary, part-time (17.5 hrs/wk) from September
              through May
 
Reports to:   Head, Information Services
 
Other:        This is an exempt, temporary faculty position
