1.  MEDLIB COMMANDS

The correct address to use for commands is the
LISTSERV address:
[log in to unmask]

Leave the subject header blank and do NOT add any
extraneous text to your commands

The following are the most frequently used listserv
commands for MEDLIB-L.

     Commands that must be entered exactly as shown
below are in all caps.
     Information that you must add to the command is
shown in lower case.

SUBSCRIBE
To subscribe:          SUBSCRIBE MEDLIB-L your first
name your last name
To unsubscribe:     UNSUBSCRIBE MEDLIB-L

NOMAIL
Useful to turn off your mail for short periods such as
when you go on vacation.
To set nomail:                             SET MEDLIB-L NOMAIL
To resume receiving mail:          SET MEDLIB-L MAIL

DIGEST
Provides ONE cumulative posting per 24 hour period.
Persons that do not want a lot of individual MEDLIB-L
messages may find Digest useful.
To set Digest:                              SET MEDLIB-L DIGEST
To Remove Digest option:          SET MEDLIB-L
NODIGEST

Above requests will be CONFIRMED.  IF YOU DO NOT
RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION MESSAGE, YOUR
INSTRUCTION WILL NOT HAVE BEEN APPLIED.

QUERY
Useful to confirm your address and subscription
settings.  For example, it is common for your Internet
address to change with (or without) your knowing it.
Even a slight change can prevent your use of
the Listserv commands.   Query will let you know if
your address has changed from your original
subscription to MEDLIB-L
To query your address:               QUERY MEDLIB-L your
name
To query your subscription:        QUERY MEDLIB-L


2. IF YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AS CHANGED,  you will not
be able to post messages to MEDLIB-L even though you
still may receive them.

Send an email with your old and new addresses to the
MLA Technical Advisor who handles subscription
problems:

3. TO POST A MESSAGE to all current MEDLIB-L
subscribers, do NOT send it to the listserv.  Instead,
address your message to:
[log in to unmask]
(You send mail to this single address and LISTSERV
sends copies to all the current subscribers.)
