To facilitate personal replies to messages posted on Medlib-l, we need to
keep in mind that many people use software that automatically replies to
the listserv -- without offering the choice to send to the poster. One way
to help them get personal replies is to use the mailto: protocol with the
e-mail address in the signature, or even in the body of the message. For
instance, send personal replies to this note to
mailto:[log in to unmask]

I know that not everyone uses Eudora, Netscape, or Microsoft mailers, but
many of the other programs will automatically ask if you want to reply to
the group or the individual.

"mailto:[log in to unmask]" is the same format used in Web pages to make links
to email addresses. It should be all lower case and entered without
spaces. For what it's worth, if you include the "http://" on web
addresses, then those of us with HTTP-compatible email programs can click
right on the URL to open the web page. If you leave off the "http://" then
we have to copy-and-paste <gasp! how terrible :->

Thanks.
