Good afternoon, If any of you have worked with your institution's biomedical media or faculty to organize their library(ies) of film clips, slides, films and/or videos, please contact me directly. We are interested in how you organized, classified and/or cataloged these. Our biomedical media department has a very large library of materials covering great historical moments, procedures, etc. We are considering how to best organize and classify the materials for easiest retrieval when needed by our physicians for teaching, review, and by administration for public relations needs. Several ideas have been suggested locally. They range from creating a new database with locally-derived headings, to using the codes used by medical records, to using MeSH terms. We are pondering use of MS Access or the Library & Learning Resource Center's online catalog for entry and retrieval. I've searched the MEDLIB-L archives (6/1996-) and did not find too much there. Your experience and suggestions would be appreciated. If you yourself don't have direct experience, but know of another library which does, please share. Or if you know this has been discussed on other lists, please point me in the right direction. Thank you. Annanaomi Sams Library & Learning Resource Center Texas Heart Institute MC 3 - 273 P.O.
