WARREN, Vt., June 1 (Reuters) - American Skiing Co. <SKI.N>, which is
carrying a heavy debt, said on Tuesday it wants to sell the Sugarbush
Inn and golf course, which are connected to its Sugarbush ski resort.

The Newry, Maine-based company declined to give the asking price for
the properties. Spokesman Skip King said the 46-room inn has been on
sale for several months and that it will be sold singly, or with the
golf course. The 18-hole golf course will not be sold as a stand-alone
property, he said. He said the properties are not considered strategic
assets.

American Skiing Co. had revenues of $164.6 million for the quarter
ending April 25. At the time it carried a net debt of $401 million.
