I just got off the phone with Laura to find out what last years specs were and she said she's already put Moretown's plowing out to bid last week.  She did it as a group bid for each town and she said the board will have the right to reject all bids. Now, I'm unclear as to next steps.  She understood that I would be getting back to her about the bid but felt she couldn't wait any longer for the other towns.  I've asked her to e-mail me the exact wording of the bid and I will forward it to you.

I would think it makes sense to ask the selectmen what they would charge the school to have the plowing done.  I realize that they contract to have secondary roads plowed and that they have awarded those contracts already.  Maybe they can expand an existing contract to cover the school at a better price? I have a call in to John Hoogenboom.  What were the specs on last years bid proposal?

Kent,
I haven't asked anyone for anything at this point.  You are the only one who has responded to my question regarding a bid and the need for one.  I will give Laura more specific information as soon as I receive it from at least 2 more board members.  I'm unclear if the town mows one year  and we plow and then switch or we just stay with plowing.  Laura is feeling that we need to put this out to bid ASAP and since it's snowing as I write this, she may have a point.  RB

Have we asked the town for a bid to plow the parking lot?
