Does access via a FidoNet gateway to a mail2ftp gateway count? Then say around 12 years. At school ~ 10 years ago. Once I left that school I couldn't get on at home until I helped organize a freenet in around 94? Signed up with the first "home user" isp to come to the area. 4 years later moved to a place with one ISP, and a slower connection than in 95. Argh! Progress?
