No part of livin far from the slopes hurts worse than the idea of always *not* skiing on marginal days.* Never having owned a season pass (sob, sniffle, thwurrnnnggkk), I've never had the experience of going for an hour's ski just because you could fit it in or in spite of a lousy-forecast-but-hey-you-never-know. A ski day means a big driving and a big bucks commitment. As a result, many good days get passed. Are we feeling a bit sorry for ourself here? Youbetcha. Maybe it's a reaction to the Intro in Powder's (kinda lame this year; very predictable) Photo Issue. The new Editor was talking about the Zen of being patient with ski days. I kept thinking, yep, that's an admirable quality, and a heck of a lot easier when your season total is closer to triple digits than it is to single. --telenaut *Bzzzt. Insufficient thought processes. No part of livin far from the slopes hurts worse than not skiing on powder weekdays. That "marginal conditions" thing is a weak second. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SkiVt-L is brought to you by the University of Vermont.
