I wanted to share an important update regarding SciENcv attachments for NIH submissions.

Any SciENcv attachments generated prior to March 20, 2026, need to be re-generated before submission, as the certification end date embedded in the SciENcv software, not UVMClick, has expired as of March 20, 2026.

If you do not update your SciENcv attachments, it will generate a validation error and your application will not be able to be submitted. [...]

NIH posted a notice<https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-26-033.html> yesterday regarding the extension of their leniency period through May 2026.

If you have already completed your Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending (Other Support) in SciENcv, it is fine to use.
Two things to remember.

1. Don't flatten the form or it will error out.
2. You will receive a warning with the SciENcv but it does allow for the submission and it's fine. [...]

NIH released a notice<https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-26-034.html> (NOT-OD-26-024) updating the NIH salary cap from the current cap of $221,900 to reflect effective 1/11/2026 the rate of $228,000.

I know that many of you have proposals in the works and you can choose the best option forward on which rate to use. UVMClick will be updated after the 2/5 deadline. If you would like to use the updated rate, you will manually need to add the new rate into your UVMClick budget. [...]

I am writing to share guidance on an RPPR submitted to NIH regarding responses to Section G.9 Foreign components (pictured below). I also want to reiterate the reporting of new foreign collaborations as research activities evolve that requires prior approval.

For Prior Approval:

Effective today, as communicated over the last year, and recently again from NSF, that required research security training must be completed by senior/key personnel on all NSF proposals prior to submission.
If senior key personnel haven't completed research security training, it cannot be certified and therefore cannot be submitted.
