This keyword defines whether new users are allowed to subscribe to the list and if confirmation is required.

Before new users are allowed to subscribe to the list they must confirm their subscription request. No list owner intervention is required. |

New users are not allowed to subscribe directly. Instead their requests are forwarded to the list owner for approval. This is the default. |

Before new users are allowed to subscribe to the list they must confirm their subscription request. After the potential subscriber has confirmed, the request is forwarded to the list owner for approval. |
Closed |
New users are not allowed to subscribe, and their requests are not forwarded to the list owner. |
The "Confirm" option has no effect on "Closed" lists. The subscription request expires after a certain amount of time, as determined by the "Confirm-Delay=" keyword (the default is 48 hours).
