Yep, it's that time of year again -- time to organize another
semester of fun and thought-provoking meetings of the UVM Conservation
Biology Discussion Group!

Please join us on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 at noon in room 105 Aiken for a
lunchtime organizational meeting.

WHAT CAN YOU DO IF YOU COME?
 1) Meet other conservation-minded folks at UVM.
 2) Lobby for your favorite meeting day (we're currently considering
either Mondays or Tuesdays at noon).
 3) Suggest speakers who might present their research or conservation work
to the group.
 4) Volunteer to present your own research or facilitate discussion of a
relevant journal article.
 5) Have fun eating lunch with groovy people rather than at your lonely
little desk.

WHO IS INVITED?
Everyone! So spread the word to undergrads, grads, faculty, staff
members, and community members who might be interested.

WHAT IS THE DISCUSSION GROUP ALL ABOUT?
The UVM Conservation Biology Group has been meeting informally since
1992 in order to provide a forum for the key issues in conservation
biology, to integrate that discussion across academic disciplines at UVM,
and to create opportunities for environmental activism among scientists
and the UVM community.

HOW DO I GET CONNECTED?
The UVM Conservation Bio Discussion Group has an on-line discussion list
called "consbio" to publicize campus happenings and current events, to
remind people about meeting times and topics, and to encourage discussion
on campus and beyond. If you're reading this message you already know
about the discussion list, but please tell your friends about it. All
they have to do is send a message to [log in to unmask] and write
"subscribe consbio" on the first line of message text.

Hope to see you on Monday, September 23!
