Hey Team,
Just a few things I wanted to say before everyone heads out for the summer.
First off, I want to thank you all for your interest and dedication to
our project. It has been a pleasure meeting and working with you all
and hopefully passing on some experience/knowledge. I also want to
apologize for having the team perform in a way that prevented us from
finishing before our first race. I guess it goes with the territory
and being a part of a somewhat "young" team brings along quite a few
challenges. I hope you all were able to learn some new skills and be
exposed to a different type of engineering project despite not seeing
the car run yet. This exposure will grant you with better
opportunities in the future and hopefully provide you with some
valuable experience.
Secondly...There is still a list of things to complete before our
final opportunity in Montreal (June 11-14). I know most of you will be
home for the summer, but if you are going to be in the area and want
to help out, let me know. Once finals are over and people are settled
into the summer
swing, we have to figure out a work schedule to get the car done -
most likely a few evenings during the week and potentially a couple of
Saturdays pending Floyd's help/approval.
Lastly, I wish you all an enjoyable and healthy summer. Look for some
updates soon about our work plans and race plans for Montreal. We will
also be discussing some changes to be made for next year, so keep your
ears open if you are still eager about being a part of the team. Get
some ideas ticking away for next year's vehicle and be ready to bring
them to the drawing table. A couple of us live in Burlington all year,
so if you are in town
visiting, get in touch - we will keep you well fed and even better hydrated.
Good luck on any remaining finals, and greater luck on all future endeavors.
Mike
