Hello Team,
Welcome back all. I hope your summer was enjoyable, remotely safe, and
didn't go by too quick. Just wanted to run over a couple quick things
as we get settled back into this school routine.
First off, this should be an exciting year, with a different approach
to "getting it done" than last year, so I'm hoping you are all ready
to help out. Please let me know of your expected involvement with a
quick email, and that will also insure that you stay on the listserv.
As I did last semester, I'll be "cleaning up" the listserv to remove
any members who aren't interested in working this year. So, I'll give
you until this Thursday, 9/4/08 to respond. After that, I'm yanking
the plug and you'll be out of the loop - severe work to be done for
those that are removed and change their mind later!!! not.
Moving on, still working out a couple of logistics (conflicting
schedules and other involvements) but we are planning for a meeting at
the start of next week. We generally get a better turn out after kids
read posters/signs for a week and learn about the club, rather than
doing it the first week of class. Keep your eyes open, and look for an
email later this week with the official day (most likely Monday
evening).
As I mentioned above, and without getting into great detail yet, we
are working on somewhat of a new layout/approach to the team. With
more experienced members than last year, and more experience under us
older members' belts, I think we can have a very successful year,
while having a good time doing so. I'm not going to list any yet, but
we will have more of an official breakdown on the team this year.
Individual task leaders essentially, in charge of their on
responsibilities. Of course they'll be working with everyone else, but
it will be their duty to stay on top of that task, and ensure its
completion. At this time, if there is any aspect you think you would
like to be more involved with, or in charge of, please let me know. I
have some rough ideas in my head on who I think would/could do a good
job in certain positions and I'll pass those on to you this week, but
an idea from you would be good first.
Again, please respond by this Thursday about your anticipated
involvement with the team, so we can move on from there.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to seeing everyone soon.
Mike

Think before you send!!! By hitting reply, you will reply to the ENTIRE listserv. If you wish to send a personal reply to the orginal poster and NOT the entire listserv, copy and paste their address and compose a new message.
Save yourself the embarrassment and think twice!
