Madeleine is looking for volunteers to help her with running this
program with Cochran's this spring. If you like the sound of skiing
the kiddos at Cochran's this spring check out her message and email
her. Pass on the message to friends who might sound interested as
well. Nadine and Matt did this last year and Catherine Carstens and
Madison Gilmore as well as many other great OC leaders have been
involved in the past. Hope you're all enjoying the snow!!

The Volunteer Ski School Program at Cochran's Mountain
Time: Roughly 2-4/5pm, Tuesday-Thursday @ Cochran's Mountain
Transportation: If you have a car, great! If you don't, not to worry,
we can organize a carpool!
What it is: Cochran's mountain is a small non-profit mountain just off
of highway 89 about 20 minutes south of Burlington. During the ski
season, Cochran's puts on an after school volunteer based program to
teach little kids how to ski. Some students have never been on skis
before, whereas some are ripping down the mountain, so the levels
vary. Volunteers will work with other non-UVM volunteers (like parents
and Cochran's staff). It's a fun and easy way to share the love of
skiing.
I volunteered with Cochran's last winter and really enjoyed it. It's a
great way to get outside in the cold, while spending time and teaching
an awesome sport. The work is fun and rewarding and the staff at
Cochran's are always amazing!
Thanks,
Madeleine Tierney
