Hi folks
This just hit one the other listserves that I am on and I thought it
might be of interest to you.
Lesley-Ann
"As many of you already know, the first of the next global series of
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports will be
released next week to the international community. The IPCC provides
an excellent opportunity for conversations with family, neighbors,
colleagues and local policy makers about the basic science of climate
change. As a helpful prelude to those conversations, UForum at UCAR
will be offering two webinars from well-known leaders in the field of
climate science next week:
Topic: Inside the IPCC Climate Science Assessments: From 1990 to 2013
Presenter: Gerald "Jerry" Meehl (NCAR senior scientist and IPCC scientist)
Date: September 17, 2013
Time: Noon - 1:00 pm (EDT, UTC -4)
Topic: Communicating Climate Change in the U.S
Presenter: Anthony Leiserowitz (Director, Yale Project on Climate
Change Communication)
Date: September 19, 2013
Time: Noon - 1:00 pm (EDT, UTC -4)
To sign up to attend either, please visit:
http://president.ucar.edu/university-relations/uforum
You also can ask questions of either presenter in advance when you
register or during the webinar.
For those unable to make the webinars but interested in watching
archived versions, they will be accessible online at the YouTube
AtmosNews site shortly after the events:

For more information about the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change and its Fifth Assessment Report, please visit the IPCC website:

We hope some of you will be able to join us!
