The list of providers will be available from superintendents or principals of the priority schools. It may also be downloaded from the Department of Education’s Web site at www.state.vt.us/educ/new/html/mainnew.html.
NCLBA’s school choice provision, which requires identified schools to offer choice to comparably-graded schools within their districts, would have affected six Vermont priority schools; all of these schools have met the exit criteria and have been removed from the priority schools list.
The Vermont Department of Education will complete a baseline profile of each Vermont school in spring 2003 using a new accountability system, which is being designed to address requirements of both EEOA and NCLBA.
