Hi Joanne - In WSESU we are in our 6th year of CMP. Generally, over the
course of 7th and 8th grade we complete all of the 7th grade CMP units and
one, or perhaps two of the 8th grade units. Though we have done a variety
of things to "speed up" our progress, we find that a very thorough job on
about 4 1/2 units/year, in addition to supplemental mini-units to address
other topics, is the pace that works best. And, I would say that we are
feeling that thorough coverage of fewer units is preferable to a less
detailed exploration of more units. Our kids are definitely well prepared
for IMP or a traditional math track in high school.
