[apologies for any duplicate postings]
I'm very happy to say that the 30 topic papers of the Vermont Land Use
Planning Implementation Manual are on available at VPIC at
This package was produced under the oversight of the Vermont Land Use
Education and Training Collaborative. It introduces a wide range of
concepts, tools, and techniques for helping communities achieve their
planning goals. Itís designed for use by planning commissions - the
municipal body responsible for writing and implementing the municipal
plan - but anyone else, including other town boards, commissions,
interested individuals, developers, or nonprofit groups, are welcome to
make use of this reference as well.
This is a preliminary release. While the pdf files may be frustrating
for those with dial-up connections, we have decided that it is best for
local officials and those who assist them to be able to view (and print)
these as soon as possible.
Be on the look-out for the following developments:
1. In the next few weeks, hard copies of the topic papers will be
provided to Regional Planning Commissions and other organizations for
distribution to local land use officials.
2. There will be an attempt to provide lower-quality pdf files of
smaller file sizes.
3. The Implementation Manual webpage will be further developed with
indexing and searching capabilities.
In the meantime, enjoy these topic papers! I welcome any questions or
