A Time to Celebrate!
As the school year moves into its final phase, why not consider doing something special for one or more of your classes? Consider bringing in a guest presenter from one of Vermont’s colleges or universities to speak on a topic which could be of great interest to your students. It’s important for our students to meet individuals who are not only good at mathematics, but also share a passion for their subject matter. Expanding Horizons participants have demonstrated their ability to reach middle school and high school students.
If you survey the wide variety of topics available, you can probably find one or more which dovetail nicely with some of the units your students studied this year. Most presenters are willing to customize their presentation to your particular class or age group.
