** Your testimony is needed to secure more **
** resources for transportation alternatives. **
**
** WEDNESDAY, JULY 21st @ 6 PM **
** Metropolitan Planning Organization Public Hearing **
** South Burlington City Offices - 575 Dorset Street **
***********************************************************

Plan to speak for three minutes. Bring a specific example of what
hasnít been done in your community...and what could be done to make your
town safer and more convenient for young and old alike.

Does your community lack adequate sidewalks, bus service, bikepaths,
park and rides, and money to repair existing roads and bridges?

Chittenden County spends about $40 million each year on transportation
improvements. Come to this important annual public hearing to let local
policy makers know your transportation priorities! What would make your
neighborhood safer? Your village center more vibrant? Your environment
cleaner? Your local open land preserved? Do you want more highways or
more bus routes and bikepaths?

Vermont Transportation Alliance believes that Chittenden County
residents need options to the automobile in getting around. As elders,
children, persons with disabilities, low-income workers and others, we
may not always be able to drive. Furthermore, walking, bicycling,
taking the bus are healthy, environmentally-sound modes of travel that
support growth centers and deter sprawl.

E-mail or call me (864-2974) to let me know you are coming. I will send
you out a list of talking points if you would like. See you Wednesday!
