I asked my friend Bob Immler, who lives in Brattleboro,
> What are your impressions of the roundabout at "Keene (N.H.) turn" in
>Brattleboro (US 5, VT 9)?
==== quote =======
I haven't had the nerve to try it yet on a bicycle.
It's amazing the number of MF idiots in the cars that can't figure it out.
They point to the Long Beach, CA one. Don't know if that's technically a
roundabout or a traffic circle. I know there's a difference, but I don't
know what it is.
I've never had trouble with that one, at least in a car, but many people do.
When I was a kid Pasadinka had a traffic circle or roundabout at a
prominent intersection and it was changed into a signal.
I'd heard the one in Latham NY referred to as dangerous on a bike, but I
rode through two years ago without problem.
They actually frighten me in a car, because most people don't realize
you're not supposed to stop
============= end quote ===
Tony, what are your observations and any data on car drivers' understanding of
what they are supposed to do in a roundabout?
What's the difference between a roundabout and a traffic circle, too?
